Why serve humanity?

Before putting our heart and soul into destroying disease, we must first ask ourselves, why? Why serve this destructive species that is pillaging mother Earth?

Humanity has been causing significant damage to this planet and suffering to its non vocal inhabitants.

This laboratory can be thought of less as a healthcare company and more as a defense company. Developing weapons of mass destruction. For me, medicine stopped being a field and started being a mission. Not because of a single dramatic event, but because of an accumulating weight — reading about diseases that kill millions of people who had no good options, watching brilliant researchers spin their wheels on the wrong problems, seeing how slowly the gap between what we know and what we can do actually closes.

Finding Luca is my attempt to close that gap, even a little.

What the name means

It is inspired by Finding Nemo. And Luca is the name of our single celled common ancestor. Joining them together we get Finding Luca which is not

Why medicine, why now

We are living through an extraordinary period. The convergence of AI, genomics, and materials science has created tools that didn't exist ten years ago. The question is whether researchers will use them boldly enough.

I believe they will. I want to be one of them.

What this lab will be

Finding Luca is not a traditional lab. We don't have a building (yet). We have questions, collaborators, and a commitment to following the evidence wherever it leads.

We work on diagnostics, regenerative medicine, and AI-driven drug discovery. We share everything we learn. We think the future of medicine gets built in the open.

If that sounds like something you want to be part of, reach out.
